mnchrme Pulsating synths, drenched in reverb/delay. Drone landscapes that echo in enternity. Interesting layers combined with an unique vision. This guy is one to watch.

Consider that as the heaps of sand piled on one another hide the former sands, so in life the events that go before are soon covered by those that come after. Favorite track: Jupiter So Close.

about

Word is the cerebral, brain-melting, new electronica album by Highland Spokesman; a project helmed by Andrey Lialkin. The album swings from electrical burn to diazepam hibernation with the flip of a switch and is a fascinating listen for it. It makes sense that the artist cites key influences on the project as widely disparate as Kubrick classic 2001: A Space Odyssey, noise-rock duo Lightning Bolt and ambient artist Belong. Lialkin has described his method as follows: “I always need a sticking point, an idea. I usually get it when I meditate, then I write them out. I also found out that the most fruitful ideas come when my stomach is full. It takes 7 to 8 hours to create a bold arrangement. It’s necessary for me to do it in 1 take. Then I do all the polishing and don’t limit myself in time. When in the process of creating, I realise that I’ve caught a big fish and I think in my head: “aah! gotcha!”. This meticulousness and creativity permeates throughout the album creating a vast web of sounds and ideas that will easily trap any curious mind that wanders too close.
